Senior Citizen Dividend Tax 2026: 7 जरूरी Rules
नए Act में dividend को Income from Other Sources के तहत charge करने का provision है।
In Short
- New Tax Regime में senior citizen के लिए अलग age-based slab benefit नहीं है।
Income-tax Act, 2025 के तहत dividend Income from Other Sources में शामिल होता है।
Old Tax Regime में Senior Citizen Slabs
यह age-based slab benefit old tax regime से जुड़ा है।
| Point | Old Tax Regime | New Tax Regime |
|---|---|---|
| Senior citizen slab | 60+ के लिए age-based basic exemption slab available | Senior citizen के लिए अलग age-based slab नहीं |
| Dividend income | Generally taxable as part of total income | Generally taxable as part of total income |
| 80TTB | Eligible interest income पर up to ₹50,000 deduction, subject to conditions | यह deduction generally available नहीं |
| 80C | Eligible payments पर combined ₹1.50 लाख तक, subject to conditions | 80C deduction generally available नहीं |
2026-27 New Tax Regime
Final tax old या new regime, total income, eligible deductions, rebate, surcharge और cess जैसे factors के आधार पर तय होगा।
| Income Source | Basic Tax Point | Record
|---|---|---|
| Listed shares | Dividend generally taxable | Broker statement, dividend advice |
| Mutual fund units | Distribution income और statement check करें | AMC/CAMS/KFintech statement |
| FD interest | Interest income, dividend नहीं | Bank interest certificate |
Practical Tax Checklist
- Dividend details: सभी shares और dividend amounts की yearly list बनाएं।
- TDS check: Dividend payment पर deducted TDS को statement से match करें।
- AIS/26AS: Reported income और TDS entries verify करें।
- Tax regime: Old और New Regime में total tax calculation compare करें।
- Advance tax: Large dividend और other income होने पर tax payment schedule check करें।
Example
Old regime चुनने पर eligible deductions और age-based slab provisions लागू हो सकते हैं। New regime चुनने पर age-specific old-regime slab benefit नहीं मिलेगा, और total income new-regime provisions के अनुसार calculate होगी।
7 Common Mistakes
- New regime में old-regime senior citizen slabs assume करना।

4. क्या New Tax Regime में Senior Citizen को अलग tax slab मिलता है?
New regime में age-based old-regime slabs जैसा अलग senior-citizen slab नहीं है।

Income-tax Act, 2025 के section 393 में normal dividend entry का threshold nil है, जबकि specified non-cash dividend paid to an individual में ₹10,000 तक exception दिया गया है। इसलिए payment mode check करें।
